The Problem

Today, people prefer to shop online or on mobile apps due to a lack of time and convenience. They can easily try out items and return those that don't meet their expectations without visiting a physical store.

The Goal

This vintage e-commerce web app aims to provide a seamless and eco-conscious online shopping experience for sustainable vintage clothing and accessories. Users can easily explore and filter easily. With secure checkout, flexible delivery, and easy returns, it's a convenient option for busy users. Accessible on mobile and desktop, it encourages eco-conscious fashion choices with the charm of vintage clothing.

Journey Map

After conducting research on customer preferences, I chose 3 user stories to focus on potential features for the app.

  1. “As a new customer, I want to access the inventory without having to register, so that I can make sure this store has what I’m looking for before having to create an account.”

  2. “As a new customer, I want to be able to save items that I cannot buy to a wish list so that I can purchase them at a later date.”

  3. “As a customer, I want there to be a variety of payment options, so that I can choose the payment method that suits me best.”

User Personas

Ideate

Once I had decided on the key features of my app, I started sketching out my wireframes. I wanted to make sure that the interface was user-friendly and that users wouldn't have to navigate too many screens. I made sure to take into account the motivations of my user personas to ensure that the app would be appealing to a diverse range of users.

Rapid Prototype

Usability Test Findings

I conducted user testing on my rapid prototypes to gather valuable feedback for improvements.

The task assigned to the participants was to locate and complete a product purchase. This provided me with valuable insights to enhance and refine my designs.

Key Takeaways

As a designer, my primary responsibility was to design an e-commerce website that was easy to use. I saw this as an opportunity to incorporate my love of classic rock and vintage into the project. I aimed to create a product that was intuitive for the user while also bringing a bit of “me” into the design. It was a fun experience to combine my passion for classic rock with the realm of sustainable vintage fashion.

Special Thanks

I'd like to give a special thanks to The Unidentified Rocker, who generously allowed me to use his images in my project. His images were essential in capturing the aesthetic and vision I had in mind.
